CHOOSING A PHYSIOTHERAPIST

Why Choose an APA Physiotherapist?

APA Code of Conduct

Only Members of the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA) are required to practice in accordance with the APA Code of Conduct. Don't trust your body to anyone - ensure your physiotherapist is an APA Member.

The APA's Code of Conduct sets out expected standards of professional and ethical principles. These principles are essential commitments to quality health care and are important points to remember when you are choosing your physiotherapist.

APA Professional Development

Members of the APA are committed to quality health care standards for Australians through all stages of life and are required to participate in the APA's Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Program.

The CPD program ensures that members maintain and exceed industry standards which include:
  • Cutting edge physiotherapy techniques;
  • Adherence to ethical principles;
  • Leading research based treatment practices.
When choosing a physiotherapist, remember to look for the APA logo as your assurance of quality.

About the APA

The APA represents more than 10,000 Australian physiotherapists working in:
  • Hospitals;
  • Academia;
  • Government;
  • Community organisations;
  • Private practice.
The APA is widely regarded as a progressive and ethical professional member organisation and is a member of the Allied Health Professions Australia, the peak body for the allied health professions.
