APA Platform - September 2004

In August 2004, the APA Board of Directors adopted for the first time, the APA Platform.

The APA Platform states the principles on which APA position statements, public statements, goals and action plans are based. It is a living document that will be reviewed in line with the APA strategic planning cycle.

The APA Platform is concerned with health promotion and the delivery of care in a variety of settings, and is divided into five major sections:

1. Government health sector;
2. Profession and workforce;
3. Public health;
4. Education;
5. Research.
