PHYSIOTHERAPY RESEARCH FOUNDATION
PRF Grants
The PRF offers three types of grants.
- Seeding grants are for new researchers working on new or established research projects.
- Tagged grants are for researchers working on new or established research projects in a specific area of physiotherapy using 'tagged' funds.
- General grants are for projects to integrate research evidence into clinical practice, promote research or conduct non-clinical research.
Applications for general grants will be considered throughout the year.
Call for 2009 seeding grant applications
The Physiotherapy Research Foundation is pleased to announce the call for applications for 2009 PRF Seeding Grants.
In 2009, PRF seeding grants worth up to $5,000 each are being offered to new researchers for research in any area of physiotherapy.
The proposed research should be of significant value to the knowledge and evidence base of physiotherapy, as well as to the general community. Grants will be awarded on the basis of scientific merit rather than the applicant’s research record.
To be considered as a new researcher, the applicant (chief investigator) must meet the following criteria:
- must not have received a previous PRF seeding or tagged grant
- must not have received any previous grant greater than $10,000
- must not have received more than $5,000 accompanying a post - doctoral fellowship.
However, the applicant (chief investigator) may have received a postgraduate scholarship.
The Applicant (chief investigator) must also:
- hold full registration with an Australian Physiotherapists Registration Board
- be an Australian citizen, or have permanent resident status
- currently reside in Australia
- be a financial member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association.
Application Form and Guidelines
Applicants (chief investigators) should read the general information and guidelines for seeding grants and complete a standard application form.
2008 Tagged Grant Applications
The call for 2008 tagged research grant applications has now closed. The PRF Grants Review Committee will soon allocate external assessors to assess the applications received in this round of grants. A peer review process of application assessment will follow, after which the assessor reports will then be collated and distributed to members of the PRF Grants Review Committee for consideration.
The final assessment meeting to determine the applications deemed suitable for funding is expected to be held in July.
Good luck to all those who have submitted applications.
